Licensing during events

During events, certain types of frequency use are subject to licensing requirements. To prevent harmful interference or breakdown of equipment as much as possible, it is vital that the frequencies used for wireless communications are mutually coordinated with temporary and permanent users.

You can apply for a licence in the Netherlands by filling out the ‘application form events’, and returning it by email or fax. The Radio Communications Agency Netherlands only issues licences for the use of frequencies in the Netherlands.

Please make sure to apply for a licence at least six weeks before the event. The use of radio frequencies without coordinated planning or a registered allocation of radio frequencies can cause unpredictable and severe disturbance in radio communications.

Licensing is vital!

During major events, a variety of equipment for wireless communications is used. Not only for course communications and audio connections, but also communication equipment for police and ambulance authorities. All these applications need a transmitting frequency. To prevent harmful interference or breakdown as much as possible, it is vital that these frequencies are mutually coordinated with temporary and permanent users. A licence for using transmitting equipment is therefore imperative ánd legally obliged. After applying for a licence you will be allocated one or more frequencies, as appropriate.
